Welcome to the memorial page for

David Lee Lewis

August 8, 1947 ~ October 18, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

David Lee Lewis, age 70, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, passed away the morning of Wednesday, Oct 18 2017 to be with the Lord.

Dave Lewis graduated high school in Umatilla, FL, and then joined the Air Force as a firefighter.  He served in the Vietnam War.  After leaving the Air Force, he worked at Mary Esther Plumbing.  He was an umpire for the Little League in Fort Walton Beach where he encouraged kids to” just swing the bat,”  a phrase that taught many kids that if they never swing, they’ll never have a chance on a hit.  Dave also worked at the concession stand with his wife making hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids.  They both attended Oakland Assembly of God Church.  Dave will be missed by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Abigale Lewis; his three sons,  Raymond David Lewis, Timothy Daniel Lewis and Marten Lee Lewis; two grandchildren that he loved dearly, Kelsey and Dylan; his brother, Tony Dewalt;  and his mother, Mary Joyce Dewalt from Michigan; and his sisters-in-law that he also cared for deeply,  Faye and Raye.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.  Memorialization is by cremation.
