Willie Watson “Potsy,” age 86, of Andalusia, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026. He was born February 12, 1939, in Andalusia, Alabama, to the late Rob Watson and Nanny Martha Butler Watson.
Willie was a devoted truck driver for TPS for many years and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a founding member of Andalusia Church, now known as Home Church, where he remained faithful throughout his life. Willie enjoyed fishing, yard work, and gardening, but most of all he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Willie “Tinker” Watson (Sherry Lynn) of Andalusia and Jeffrey Watson of Andalusia; daughters, Martha Watson Wallace of Andalusia and Sherry Watson McCommon (Rick) of Dothan; sister, Lucile Hatfield (Bill) of Calera, Alabama; grandchildren, Jared Watson, Lee Mills (Haileigh), Tanner Watson, Hope Wallace, Cody Wallace, Matthew Brunson, Ross Brunson, Jennalyn Watson, and Marissa Watson; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Watson, Millie Watson, Ayden Watson, Willow Rae Watson, and Bodie Kai Watson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Ann Davis Watson, and daughter, Darlene Michelle Watson.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 3pm-5pm at Home Church formerly known as Andalusia Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Home Church with Bro. Gene Truman officiating. Pallbearers will be Jared Watson, Lee Mills, Cody Wallace, Tanner Watson, Matthew Brunson, and Ross Brunson. Graveside services will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
