William Turner Obituary

 

William Nelson Turner 04/04/1961 – 06/23/26

William (Bill) Nelson Turner, a resident of Wetumpka, AL, was welcomed into the arms of the

Lord on June 23, 2026. He was 65 years old.

Bill was a devoted follower of Jesus and served his wife, family, friends, and others by the

principles of love, grace, and compassion. His life bible verse is Jeremiah 33:3. He taught

Sunday School classes for several years and was dedicated to home bible study with family. He

also served many other roles in the church over his lifetime.

Bill and Tyna married in 1999. The Lord blessed their marriage in so many amazing ways as they

sought Him daily and surrendered their lives for His purposes. They had many special times

with family and friends on the lake, in addition to traveling, hiking, camping, and enjoying time

outdoors watching wildlife.

He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL and went on to build a

fulfilling career in the Automotive Field, and later spent many years assisting others with home

projects and repairs. He was very talented in carpentry work and as a handyman, could fix

almost anything. He was also very creative and was gifted as an artist ranging from oil paintings,

copper crosses and copper jewelry.

He was preceded in death by his parents William N. Turner, Sr. and Martha McClellan Turner.

He is survived by his beloved wife Tyna; sister Christine Turner; son Evan Turner (Cari); stepson

Phillip Evans (Reiga); stepson Wesley Street; grandchildren; Ty Evans, Eli Evans, Micah Evans and

special cousins Jodie Jensen (Chris), Terrie Smith, Thomas Smith, Jim Smith and extended family

and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Funeral services will be held at Victory Church, located at 1173 Old Montgomery Hwy,

Wetumpka, AL on Tuesday, June 30rd, 2026 at 11:30 am, with Reverend Chad Middlebrooks and

Wayne Heaton officiating. Burial will follow in Pine View Memorial Cemetery in Wetumpka, AL.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse

International Relief or First Baptist Church of Atlanta, GA.
