Thomas Castleberry Obituary

Mr. Thomas Gregory Castleberry of Red Level passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 62.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at the South Church of God in Red Level. The family will receive friends at South Church of God on Tuesday one hour prior to services and from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday at the family's residence (35363 Hester Store Road). When visiting at the family's home and at the church, please adhere to the wearing of mask for COVID state regulations. Rev. Tirey Bowen will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Flowers will be accepted. Serving as pallbearers will be Derrick Blackburn, LeLand Blackburn, Junior Curry, Hobson Curry, Madison Curry, and Chris Brown.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 18 years, Rita Seaward of Red Level, his loving mother, Caudy Faye Castleberry of Red Level; daughters, Tonya Castleberry of Georgiana; Latrell Castleberry of Andalusia; and Vanessa Seaward of Red Level; grandchildren, Derrick Blackburn, LeLand Pipkin, Allie Castleberry, Harley Castleberry; great-grandchildren, Cody Blackburn and Scarlett Blackburn; uncles, Junior Curry (Midian) of Selma; Doug Castleberry (Frances) of Straughn Community; Jerry Wayne Castleberry (Jane) of Tennessee; aunts, Linda Castleberry and Lois Castleberry of Andalusia and Jackie Curry of Brewton; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas William Castleberry; grandparents, I. H. and Epsy Curry and Curtis and Alene Castleberry; uncles, Lewis Curry, Wallace Castleberry, Ray Castleberry, J.T. Castleberry, and Hillery Castleberry; aunts, Glenda Castleberry and Alene Castleberry.
A 1975 graduate of Red Level High School; he had resided in Northport, Florida and worked as a construction foreman, where he met Rita, they were married and moved back to be near his mother, Mrs. Caudy Faye, who he dearly loved. While back in Covington County, he became a licensed plumber and has worked the last 12 years with Alexander Plumbing and Electrical. Happiness for Gregory was a "lap full of grandbabies". He also loved to fish, hunt, and garden. As a family, they attended the South Church of God. He will be greatly missed.
