Rosa Powers Obituary

Rosa Powers, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on April 12, 1939, in Laredo, Texas.

Rosa was married to the love of her life, Tommy Ray Powers, for 51 years. Mr. Powers preceded her in death on November 1, 2022, in Andalusia, Alabama. Rosa was a devoted wife, family member, and friend who cherished time spent with her loved ones.

She is survived by her sisters, Patsy San Miguel, with niece Cyndi Gregg of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and nephew David G. San Miguel of Houston, Texas; and Lupe Metz and her husband, Gerald Metz, with sons David Metz of Key Largo, Florida, and Jason Metz of Columbia, Illinois.

She is also survived by her stepson and daughters-in-law, Tommie Powers Jr. (Tammy) of Newton, Texas, and Kathy Powers of Montgomery, Louisiana.

Grandchildren include Belinda Grantham (Charles “Buddy”) of Ozark, Alabama; Christopher Powers (Erin) of Arlington, Tennessee; William Paul Powers of Mauriceville, Texas; Heather Powers Thibodeaux of Mauriceville, Texas; Lee Tilton of Montgomery, Louisiana; and Kyle Powers of Newton, Texas.

Great-grandchildren include Ryan Boyett (Vanessa), Justin Boyett (Amelia), Tucker Grantham, Carrie Grace Grantham, Samuel Boyett, Natalie Powers, Emma Powers, Hannah Powers, Alanna Powers, Hallie Powers, Victoria Thibodeaux, and Arian Thibodeaux.

Rosa was preceded in death by her son, William Lee Powers, and her grandson, Johnathan Blake Powers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, with Father Bieu Nguyen officiating. A private internment will be held at Stonelake Cemetery following the funeral service. A luncheon will be held at the church following the services.
