Rocky Lane Taylor of Dozier, remains were located on May 13, 1988, in the Fort Pierce, Florida area. He and four other migrant workers were murdered. Mr. Taylor’s remains have been in the custody of the Office of the Medical Examiner for the Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties for 32 years waiting for identification which was accomplished during the year 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Free Will Baptist Church in Dozier, Al, 33 years from the date he was found. Rev. Glenn Tatum will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Billy Taylor, James Taylor, Tony Taylor, Douglas Swendsen, Danny Walker, and Carl Walker. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Left to cherish his memory, one daughter, Lori Clements (John) of Kentucky; two brothers, Tony Lamar Taylor (Tara Lynn) of Montgomery; Billy Wayne Taylor (Julia May) of Dozier; Aunt Eunice Slawson (Kenny) of Andalusia; 1 grandson, Kaelin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
