Rachel Watson Obituary

Rachel Ann Davis Watson of Brooklyn Road, Andalusia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 4th at the Home Church (formerly Andalusia Church of God, 101 Adellum Road). The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, October 3rd at the Home Church, 101 Adellum Road, Andalusia. Officiating will be Rev. Gene Truman and Rev. Glenn Vaughn. A son-in-law, Rick McCommon will give special remarks. The Home Church Choir will provide the music. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Babbie.  Serving as pallbearers will be Tinker Watson, Jeff Watson, Jared Watson, Tanner Watson, Cody Wallace, Aubrey Lee Mills, Matthew Brunson and Mike O’Rourke, Jr. 
Left to cherish her memory, loving and faithful husband of 62 years, Willie “Potsy” Watson; daughters, Martha Watson Wallace of Andalusia; Sherry Watson McCommon (Rick) of Dothan, sons, Willie “Tinker” Watson (Sherry Lynn) of Andalusia; Jeffery LaDon Watson of Andalusia; sister, Eloise Davis Smith (Joe) of Andalusia; brother-in-law, Mike Cooper of Andalusia; grandchildren, Jared Watson, Aubrey Lee Mills (Haileigh), Tanner Watson, Hope Wallace, Cody Wallace, Matthew Brunson, Ross Brunson, Jennalyn Watson and Marissa Watson; great grandchildren, Hunter Watson, Millie Watson, Ayden Watson and Willow Rae Watson.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Farelle & Ruby Jane Ward Davis; daughter, Darlene Michelle Watson in 2020; sisters, Nettie Weiss Cooley (Monroe), Louise Cooper and Jimmie Lee Wilkerson (Jr.); brothers, Robert Earl Davis (Carolyn), L.K. Davis (Sharon) and Tommy Davis (Alice); son-in-law, Charles “Buzz” Brunson, III.

Rachel was married to the love of her life for 62 years. “Potsy” and Rachel brought up their family in a loving, faith filled home, both have been members of Andalusia Church of God for over 52 years and Rachel taught the Adult Sunday School Class many years.  She worked at the Alatex for 26 years and loved sewing for her family. She loved being with her family and especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
