Marion Shannon “Shine” Capps, age 79, of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away on December 7, 2025. A lifelong resident of Andalusia, Shine was well known throughout the community. He never learned to drive, so he walked everywhere he needed to go, greeting neighbors and friends along the way. In his younger years, he earned a living cutting grass, and despite facing personal challenges, he worked hard and was always willing to lend a hand. Shine never met a stranger. He was loved by many, and he had a kind, helpful spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 27th at Stone Lake Gardens with friends being received at 1:30pm
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Hoskins; father, Marion Capps; brothers, James Sorrells and Earl Capps; and sisters, Mildred Owens and Corrine Sasser. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. A GoFundme page has been created to help with the final expenses: https://gofund.me/868da22d6
