Mrs. Lorene Vickery Bozeman Wilson, age 86, of the Dozier community went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 4, 2022. She was surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at the chapel of Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Keahey Chapel one hour prior to the services. Rev. Tim Carpenter and Rev. Gary Holloway will officiate. Special music will be by Slade Wicker. Interment will follow in the Rawls Baptist Church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mason Bozeman, Daniel Clark, Gillis Royals, Cameron Ballard, Tanner Lee, Walter Hughes, III., and Lamon Kervin. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with the services.
Mrs. Lorene loved to stay busy, one of her first jobs was working at a plant nursery in Florida, after moving to Alabama she worked at Andalusia's Alatex and the Adella; she found her life's passion as a CNA and was with the Andalusia Nursing Home for 27 years. In retirement, she spent lots of time outdoors, tending her flower beds and could rake leaves for hours. A great fisherman, her son, Dale said he could "sit and bait her hook and watch her pull them in!" She was a member of Rawls Baptist Church since the 1970's and sang in the church choir; she loved gospel music and especially the Gaithers.
Left to cherish her memory, sons, Marlin Dale Bozeman (Joni) of Andalusia; Glen Allen Bozeman of Dozier; daughters, Nina Gail Bozeman Clark (Donald) of Dozier; Barbara Ann Hughes (Walter) of Dozier; her twin sister and best friend all her life, Orene Odom of Andalusia; Joyce Capps of Pensacola, FL; Carolyn Wilson (Jimmy) of Washington; half-sisters, Linda Gail Newton and Sharon Lynn; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Winton Vickery and Siney Leonia Black Vickery, son, Kenneth Wade Bozeman and sister, Glenda Sue Stallings and brother, Henry Vickery.
