Mrs. Lena Kate Harden of Banks, formerly of Clio passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at her residence. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Ramah Church in Pike County (4547 County Road 6618, Banks, AL 36005). The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services. Rev. Averyt Walker and Rev. Charlie Newman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ramah Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Harden, Brian Kilpatrick, Kevin Newman, Benjamin Newman, Riley Danner, and Terry Key.
Left to cherish her memory, loving husband, John Harden; son, Bart Harden (Lisa) of Ariton, AL; daughter, Renee Newman (Charlie) of Banks, AL; grandchildren, Matt Harden (Lindsay), Hope Kilpatrick (Brian), Kevin Newman (Rebecca), Benjamin Newman (Jamie); great grandchildren, Avery, Eli, Easton, Kamdyn, John, Luna, and Naomi.
Lena Kate was the daughter of Purry Danner and Annie Lott Danner; she was a 1951 graduate of Barbour County High School. She and John owned and operated Harden's Dixie Dandy in Clio and Louisville for 26 years. She was a great cook and talented wedding cake baker and loved spending time with her family.
