Mr. LaFelt Brannon of Sanford, AL passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones at his residence. He was 99. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Rev. Ed Ganus will officiate. Interment will follow in the Veasey Chapel Cemetery located in the Burnout Community. Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Smith, Carl Smith, Cody Smith, Matthew Brannon, Dustin Brannon, Jimmy Beasley , and Steve Sasser.
Left to cherish his memory, son, Victor (Rebecca) Brannon of Andalusia; daughters, Patty Brannon Sutton of Andalusia, and Cathy (Hilton) Bozeman of Andalusia; one sister, Faye Floyd of Valparaiso, FL; five grandchildren, Matthew Brannon, Dana Brannon, Duston Brannon, Steve Sasser, and Greer Barton; six great-grandchildren, Luna Sasser, Koa Sasser, Fynn Brannon, Reave Barton, Raine Barton, and Hayden Brannon; He was preceded in death by, wife, Lois Mitchell Brannon; brother, Berman Brannon; and sister, Thra Brannon Hicks.
Mr. Brannon was a beloved member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. In his later years, he discovered a hidden talent of artistry and became an award-winning local artist. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was truly one of the greatest generations!
