Mrs. Katie Harris Spivey, age 90, lifelong resident of Clio passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 30, 2022.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2023, at Sykes Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services. Rev. Randy Adams and Rev. Phillip Durr officiating. Interment will follow in the Sykes Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brady Spivey, James Austin, Gage Spivey, Will Farmer, Richie Paramore and Tony Reeder. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Austin, Colton Austin and Jack Ferguson.
Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Lynn Hagler and Brenda Spivey Hughes, both of Clio; grandchildren, Brady Spivey, James Austin (Judith) and Melissa Farmer (Will); 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Barnett Spivey in 2000 and a son, Thomas Spivey and daughter-in-law, Barbara Spivey, grandson, Kevin Spivey and son-in-law, Aubrey Hughes, and her parents, Dewey Harris and Fannie Palmer Harris.
The family extends a special thanks to Ashley Foley of Southern Care Hospice.
Katie was known for her excellent quilting talent and many people have been the recipient of one of her beautiful quilts.
