Karen Swaim

Karen McIntrye Swaim, age 64 of McKenzie passed away April 28, 2025 in the Andalusia nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 11 a.m., at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Elder Steve Tolbert and Elder Rex Tolbert will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Welcome Cemetery (Hwy. 31).

Left to cherish her memory, son, Jamie Wiggins (Candi) of McKenzie, AL; daughter, Tessa Wiggins (Jason Browder) of McKenzie, AL; brother, Johnny McAbee (Juanita) of Evergreen, AL; sister, LaFonda Cook of Red Level, AL; sister-in-law, Barbara Jo McAbee; grandchildren, Arizona Wiggins Johnson (Kegan), Jade Wiggins, Alyssa Wiggins, Dallas Gordon and Colton Wiggins.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie River Goodwin and brother, Frank McAbee and her parents, James Asbury McIntyre and Mary Louise Tolbert.

For a number of years, she worked for her dad at Andalusia Lumber Company as a secretary; she loved that position. In her later years, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, talking on the phone, deep sea fishing, going to the beach and sitting by the pool.
