J. Robert L. Doyon, of Opp, formerly of Saco, Maine passed away November 2, 2023 in a Dothan hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Cool Springs Road Cemetery in Opp. Keahey Funeral Home is directing.
He was born April 14, 1947 to the late Jean Paul and Laurette (Boucher) Doyon. He graduated from Biddeford High School in 1965. During his career years, he worked with Saco Defense as a machinist and was also a mechanic and front end specialist. For several years, he built homes with a prominent building contractor and prior to taking retirement in 1982, he was employed with the Maine Department of Transportation.
Since the age of12, he has played guitar and loved it, especially the “oldies”. He became a Christian in 1982 and after becoming a follower of Christ he dedicated his musical talent to the Lord and only played gospel music. After moving to Opp, he served with his musical talent in various churches, some were Greater Miracles Worship Center, Eden Fellowship, New Chapel Baptist Church and the Church of Christ.
Left to cherish his memory, daughter, Bambi Doyon and her husband, Joey Reynolds of Maine; a niece, Terri Libby Stuart McDonald Chapman of Florida; two nephews, Raymond Libby and his wife, Sugako, and Jimmy Libby; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and several cousins.
