Mr. John Huckabee, CPO, Retired of Andalusia passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 27, 2020. He was 74.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Vera Cruz Methodist Church Cemetery.
Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 38 years, Lydia Huckabee of Andalusia; daughters, Ingrid Rivera of Milton, FL; Lydia Mott (Jimmy) Mott of Niceville, FL; brother, Rusty Huckabee (Nancy) of Live Oak, FL; sister, Denise Chambers (Steve) of Inverness, FL; 5 grandchildren, Bella Karabin (Glenn), Leonardo Rivera, Ethan Mott, Elijah Mott, and Luke Mott.
A native of Miami, Florida; he served 23 years in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam War veteran. Since a child, John loved and cared for a large variety of animals, from alligators to pheasants. At the time of his passing, he and Lydia were caring for many pets from chickens to dogs. He enjoyed fishing and was a great cook; a highly skilled craftsman, he could build almost anything he set his mind to. He will be greatly missed.
