Joe Lee Missildine

Joe Lee Missildine of Opp passed away August 11, 2023, in an Ashville, Alabama nursing facility. He was 73.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2023, at Keahey Funeral Home in Andalusia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Rev. Chester Watson will officiate. Interment will follow at the Church of the Nazarene, New Providence Church Cemetery (29648 Antioch Road, Andalusia, AL). Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Williams, David Adams, Chris Williams, Michael Williams, Jeff Brooks and Travis McKenize. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Parker and Ryan McLeod.

The family will be gathering at the home of the son, David Adams, 136 McLeod Road, Opp, AL.

Joe was born July 4, 1950. He was a farmer most of his working years and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending his spare time fishing and cooking and most of all spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory, daughters, Tracy Folmar (George) of Opp; Wanda Creel of Florida; sons, David Adams (Lisa) of Opp; Bobby Adams (Sharon) of Summerdale, Al; brothers, James Missildine (Julie) of Opp; John Missildine (Lou); sisters, Mary Preston of Opp; Brenda Schofield (David) of Florida; grandchildren, Kim Wood (Jerald); Joshua Williams, David Adams (Cindy), Brittany Williams, Valerie Parker (Nathan), Chris Williams (Payton); Michael Williams (Danasia), Kaitlyn McLeod (Ryan), Travis McKenzie; 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Missildine; brother, William Missildine; sisters, Lela Baker, Elizabeth Phelps, great grandson, Alexander McKenzie.
