Mrs. Jewell A. Brantley of Ozark passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in a Dothan hospital. She was 79.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Faith Christian Church (853 Lakeview Road, Ozark). The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services on Saturday. Rev. Josh Simms and Rev. Floyd Ingram will officiate. A private graveside for immediate family members will follow in Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clio.
Left to cherish her memory, loving husband, Kelsey Brantley, her five children, Jeanette Galloway (John), Brenda Donaldson (Dan), Melissa Patterson, Keith Bunn (Stacey), and Mitchell Brantley; brothers, Roy Hooks (Linda) and John Wayne Hooks (Patty); six grandchildren, Chris, Calieb. Brandon, Christina, Chloe, and Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm A. Hooks, Sr., mother, Irma J. Hooks, brother, Malcolm A. Hooks, Jr.
Mrs. Jewell retired from the Department of Human Resources after 17 years of service. When she retired, she went on to do volunteer work as a Pink Lady for Dale Medical Center in Ozark. She was a long time member of the Church of God in Ozark and attended Faith Christian Center. She loved to sing gospel music and loved her Lord and Savior. She never passed up an opportunity to witness to someone about the love of Jesus. She will be greatly missed.
