Jeremy Edward Gibson

Mr. Jeremy Gibson of Opp passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at his residence. He was 34.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2020, at Liberty Congregational Church (Lester Bell Rd.) in Brantley. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services. Rev. Jimmy Williams and Rev. John McMath will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Gibson, Tony Vendetti, David Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Austin Migliaccio. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Gibson, Mark Chavers, Charles Owens, Danny Rhodes, and Stanley Smith. Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia is entrusted with arrangements.

Left to cherish his memory, father, James Gibson of North Carolina; mother, Gail (John) Gibson Defee of Rutledge, AL; sons, Jeremy Ethan Gibson of South Carolina and Brian Anthony Gibson of Georgiana; daughter, Kyleigh Marie Gibson of South Carolina; brother, Justin (Rebecca) Gibson of Horn Hill Community; sister, Jessica Gibson; girlfriend, Samantha Turner of Opp; maternal grandparents, Charles (Mary) Owens of Brantley; paternal grandmother, Shirley (Jim) Hitt of North Carolina; step-grandmother, Vera Foster, who passed away the same day as Jeremy. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Edward Gibson, brother-in-law, Matthew Kenneth Douglas, niece, Jordan Douglas, and nephew, Ryan Douglas. 

Jeremy loved his kids. He loved hanging out with family and friends, mud riding, cookouts, and making people laugh.  He always gave 100% at every job he did. He will be greatly missed.
