Janice Lamerle McCormick, age 78, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026. She was born March 2, 1948 in Alabama to Corlos Odom and Bessie Armstrong Odom.
Mrs. McCormick worked as a school bus driver in Covington County for 14 years. She faithfully attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and was devoted to her family and community. She will be remembered for her kind heart, dedication, and the love she shared with those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Richard McCormick of Red Level; daughters, Wanda Kilpatrick of Andalusia and Lisa Ziglar of Andalusia; brother, Carl Odom (Patsy) of Red Level; grandchildren, Heather Norris, Scott McCormick, Tyler Ziglar, Matthew Ziglar, Katelyn Bennett, David McCormick, and Maddy McCormick; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Renee English; sister, Glenda Ivey; and her parents, Corlos Odom and Bessie Armstrong Odom.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel in Andalusia, Alabama, with Rev. Tyler Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A eulogy will be given by her granddaughter, Katelyn Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Caddell, Tonis Crittenden, Terry McCormick, Scott McCormick, Tyler Ziglar, and David McCormick.
Graveside services will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
