Mrs. Jacqueline Faye "Lady J" Abbey of Blue Springs, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020, in the Dale Medical Center. She was 71. Survivors include her loving husband, Mike Abbey of Blue Springs, AL; son, Chad Boatwright of Middleburg, FL: sister, Jerri Faulkner, and 33 young people who they "adopted." Jacqueline was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and spent most of her summers as a teenager on her Aunt's farm in Lake City, Florida. The Abbey's had been "mom and dad" to many children and teenagers through the years. At the time of her untimely passing, the Abbey's counted 42 as their children along with their 9 natural children and their 42 grandchildren. Jackie greatly impacted many children that had "challenging" lives by taking them into her home and heart and all left far better than they had come. The Abbey's were "full-timers" with the Family Motor Coach Association and had traveled over the United States. She loved country and bluegrass music and attended many bluegrass festivals while traveling. She retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. The world is a better place because of Jackie "LadyJ".
A memorial service will be held later at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Blue Springs.
The date and time are to be announced. Keahey Funeral Home of Clio is entrusted with arrangements.
A celebration of her life will also be held in Jacksonville, Florida. The date and time to be announced
