Ima Nell (Chavers) Boggan

Ima Nell (Chavers) Boggan of “Boggan Level” Wing, Alabama went to her home in Heaven on July 8, 2020. She was born in Cohasset, Alabama, and married the love of her life, Hinton Waters Boggan on June 12, 1948.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2020, at Beda Baptist Church. Rev. Jonathan Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the Beda Cemetery with Roger Granstaff officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Boggan, Robbie Ivey, Wade Ivey, sandy Cotton, Tony Wilson, Roger Granstaff, and David Boggan. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Gail Armstrong (Bill) of Sterrett, Alabama; Miriam Lanette Wheeler (Elliot) of Wing, AL; and a son, John Mark Boggan (Joan) of Andalusia; grandchildren, Karen McKennie, Tonya Merrifield, Jan Kelley, Harmony McCoy, Cherish Hughes, Sadie Pettus, David Boggan and special caretaker, Daniel Boggan; 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Nell loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all of her family. She was faithful to read her Bible daily and pray for everyone. She greatly enjoyed her talent for oil painting and over the years has given many paintings to special people in her life. She lived a full and long life with family members always by her side. She was looking forward to the ending of her journey here on Earth and to beginning her eternal life in Heaven with the loved ones that had gone on before.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Uriah and Ima Henry Grimes Chavers, her loving spouse of 65 years, Hinton Waters Boggan; brothers, Carl, Crawford, Joe, and Robert Chavers; sisters, Margaret Miller, Minota Grissett, and Bedie Davis.
