Mr. Haverd Mitchell of Montgomery passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Keahey Chapel. The family will receive friends at Keahey Chapel one hour prior to services. Rev. Faron Golden and Dr. T.V. Wilson will officiate. Special music will be provided by a niece, Olivia Lynch. Burial will follow in the River Falls Cemetery. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. State and federal guidelines will be implemented for the Coronavirus.
Born in Dozier, Haverd graduated from Rawls High School in 1958. He was a residential electrician for 42 years.
Pallbearers will be Keith Lynch, Kenneth Lynch, Pat Mitchell, Kyle Rawls, Robert Mitchell, Terrence Wilson Jr.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, Jeanine Clark Mitchell of Montgomery; daughters, Deborah (Mack) Hufham of Wilmington, NC; Janet (Craig) Ruff of Tallassee, AL; Denise (Dr. T.V.) Wilson of Montgomery; sister, Joyce (Bob) Lynch of Andalusia; grandchildren, Cameron (Justin) Morgan, Stephen Center, Erin (Chip) Davis, Logan Sowell, Braeden Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Mary Morgan, Sarah Morgan, Haley Morgan, Payton Center, Trevor Center, Sloan Davis, Wells Davis. He was preceded in death by brothers, Hascil, Pete, Wendle and, Willis Mitchell and sisters, Jurl Scofield, Katherine Thomas and Agnes Free.
