Mrs. Glinda Varee Ainsworth Oikle of McCalla, Alabama formerly of Andalusia passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in a Birmingham hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the services. Rev. Derrick Stewart will officiate the services. A private graveside will follow in the River Falls City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Francis, Roy Mosley, Jerry Neal and Phillip Spivey.
Glinda was born March 28, 1936, to Alvie Lane Ainsworth and Mary Evie Ainsworth. She worked as a sewing machine operator at Alatex in Andalusia and was a licensed childcare person for the state of Alabama and kept children in her home for many years. She was talented with crochet and quilting; almost every year a different family member received a beautiful quilt, and they all had many delicately crocheted doilies.
Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Deborah Spivey (David) of McCalla, AL; and Brenda Gray (Kenneth) of Kingsland, GA; sisters, Cloree Neal (Paul) of Andalusia; Joyce Kinsey (Harry) of Millbrook, AL; grandchildren, Isaac Gray, Derek Spivey, Heather Weeks and Devin Spivey; great grandchildren, Jaiden Spivey and Evelyn Spivey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold Hilliard and Charles Oikle; brother, Thanural Ainsworth, and sister, Ida Mae Scott.
