Gerald Nix Taylor Jr, age 64 of McKenzie (formally of Florala) passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his residence in McKenzie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, at 12 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service. Interment to follow at Taylor Family Cemetery (3026 Union Road, Florala, AL. 36442). Rev. Bobby Taylor and Rev. Paul Taylor will officiate the services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bubba Parker, Lee Faust, Casey Golden, Tracy Nichols, Brett Burgess and Hayden Hall.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his companion Debbie Karlek of Milton, FL. Son; Zachary Taylor of Abbeville, AL; Honorary Son Casey Golden; daughters, Miranda Griswald of Dothan, Sara Taylor of McKenzie, and Katherine Taylor of McKenzie; Mother to his children, Debbie Ming of McKenzie; Brothers, Carl Taylor of Florala, Paul (Linda) Taylor of Libertyville, Hank Taylor of Red Level, and Bobby (Melissa) Taylor of Wing,. Sisters, Betty (Garry) Davis of Pensacola, FL and Sara Ann (Nick) Nichols of Red Level., and grandchildren, Brett, Halie, Noriah, Hayden, Katelynne, Bubba, Lee, Brinlee, Chanley, Abigail, Lillian, Caroline, and Wyatt. Mr. Taylor was an avid outdoorsman who loved both deer and turkey hunting as well as fishing the Yellow River but, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids in the Butterbean community.
