Franklin A. Walters, age 79 of Red Level passed away October 14, 2023, at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.
A Rosary service will be held at 5 p.m., on Monday, October 23 ,2023 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to follow till 7 p.m. A Mass will be held at 11:30 on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church on Sanford Road with Father Bill Nguyen, Father Patrick Gallagher, Father Thomas Lapoint and Deacon Bailey Roberts officiating. Interment will follow on Wednesday, October 25,2023 at 3:30 ET at Green Lawn Cemetery located at 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, GA 30076, with Deacon Bernie Casey officiating and full military honors. Anyone who like to follow to Green Lawn Cemetery is welcome.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Ryan Taylor, Joseph Wages, John Ryan Wages, Liam Bostwick, Orion Harden-Poleger, Reese Poleger, Owen Davidson.
Serving as honor guard will be the Knights of Columbus.
Left to cherish his memory, wife of 51 years, Colleen J. Whalen Walters; sisters, Patricia Hanson (Darrell) of Pennsylvania; Mary Shank of Middletown, Maryland; Linda Hulbert of Texas; brother, Sam Brandt of Fredrick, Maryland; grandchildren, Kathleen Elizabeth Davidson, Luke Ryan Taylor and Melina Kathryn Taylor; two sons-in-law, Logan Ryan Taylor and Hunter James Davidson; sisters-in-law, Jeri Lynne Lindsey and Georgia Dickerson (Stan); several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter in 2006, Maryanne P. Walters Taylor and a sister-in-law, Susie Jo Poole.
Mr. Walters retired from the Navy after 28 years of service. He was a dedicated member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.
