Frances Littlefield Obituary

It is with profound sadness and abiding love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Frances Elizabeth Littlefield, who departed this life peacefully on June 14, 2025, at the age of 86.

Born on January 27, 1939, Frances lived a life full of devotion—to her faith, her family, her work, and her passions. A proud woman of God, she walked in faith every day of her life, drawing strength and purpose from her deep relationship with the Lord. Her unwavering spirit and quiet strength served as a constant source of comfort and inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Frances was the heart of a large and loving family. She is survived by her four devoted children, who carry forward her legacy of love and strength, her cherished grandchildren, and her precious great-grandchildren—each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of a home-cooked meal, and her arms were always open for a hug, a prayer, or a song.

A true entrepreneur at heart, Frances’ work ethic was unmatched, and her creativity and passion were evident in everything she touched.

She had a deep love for music—whether she was singing along to her favorite gospel songs or humming a tune while working. And when it came to Saturdays in the fall, there was no mistaking where her loyalty lay: cheering on her beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. "Roll Tide!" was more than a chant—it was part of her spirit.

Frances leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and boundless love. She taught us how to live with grace and how to serve with humility. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her kind heart, her infectious laugh, and her unshakable belief in the goodness of people.

She was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a wonderful cook. She was an avid Alabama football fan, she loved playing cards, dancing, singing, reading and she was an excellent storyteller.

While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into eternal peace, surrounded by the light and love of her Savior.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory, daughters, Lenita King of Ariton, AL; Amy Dawkins (Curtis) of Ariton, AL; sons, Scott Littlefield (Christy) of Athens, AL; Clay Littlefield of Taylorsville, NC; brother, Gerald Higdon (Carolyn) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Lacy Littlefield, Lauren Littlefield, Lindsey Littlefield, Courtney Linam, Brady Brown, Brittany Willis, Miranda Kegg, Alaina Freeman, Griffin Littlefield, and Katie Okey; numerous great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 6200 US Highway 431, Headland, AL, 36345, with visitation beginning 30 minutes prior. Pastor Daryl Bates will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Freeman, Griffin Littlefield, Curtis Dawkins, and Brady Brown.
