Edgar Dwight Shipp, age 62 of Red Level passed away unexpectedly at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Rev. Dewayne Gomillion. Special music will be provided by his brother-in-law, Terry Faust. Burial will follow in the Gorum Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Ward, Shane Mitchell, Fred Shipp, Logan Shipp, Tommy Morgan, Travis Shipp and Brenden Weaver.
Left to cherish his memory, loving wife, Theresa Shipp of Red Level; sons, Jeremy Owens, Jr., Edgar Dwight Shipp, Jr.(Alicia Cantrell) of McKenzie; Travis McClure Shipp (Sarah) of McKenzie; daughters, Hollie Lynn Shipp of Birmingham; stepsons, Ryan Lamar Mitchell (Katie) of Tennessee; Julian Shane Mitchell of Red Level; stepdaughters, Brittany Tolbert and Holly Raines (Adam); brothers, Earl Shipp of McKenzie; David Shipp (Teri) of McKenzie; James Shipp (Jessica) of McKenzie; sister, Judy Ellis (Jimmy) of McKenzie; mother-in-law, Julia Peavy; grandchildren, Arizona Johnson (Kegan), Raven Shipp, Lucas Coburn, Brenden Weaver, Caylee Weaver, Caylee Weaver, Cayleb Weaver, Regional D. Shipp, Sean Robert Bolden, Hayden Bolden, Liberty Shipp;

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Edward Shipp and Annice Elizabeth Ward Shipp.
Shipp was a lifelong resident of the Red Level-McKenzie area and served 4 years in the National Guard. He was a member of Brooks Baptist Church and enjoyed doing anything that placed him outdoors; he was a skilled hunter and fisherman and especially loved spending time with his many grandchildren. He had worked with Marc McIntyre LLC for the past 15 years; he was a friend to all that knew him.
