Derek Lawrence Spivey

Mr. Derek Lawrence Spivey of Andalusia passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was 39.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Keahey Funeral Home one hour prior to services. Rev. Derrick Stewart will officiate. 

Left to cherish his memory, father, David Spivey, mother, Deborah Spivey and beloved son, Jaiden Spivey, all of McCalla, Al; brother, Devin Spivey (Xiaomei) of Hoover, Al; aunts and uncles, Phillip Spivey (Barbara) of Andalusia; Lynn Folmar of Andalusia; Steve Spivey (Rita) of Andalusia; Brenda Gray (Kenneth) of Kingsland, Ga.;  He was preceded in death by maternal granny, Glinda Oikle, maternal grandmother, Ida Mae Scott, maternal grandfather, J.B. Scott, paternal grandfather, L.D. Spivey, paternal grandmother, Georgia Spivey.

Derek was loved by many and had the kindest and loving and giving heart. He was never one to turn away a friend in need. He always had a way with children and animals and they in turn loved him. Growing up he seemed to always be drawn to all kinds of strays, two or four legged. He loved amusement parks and the scarier the ride the better. He was fearless. He was a loving father, a beloved son, brother, cousin and nephew and a true, loyal friend who will be missed beyond measure.
