Mr. Charlie Harris Smithwick, Jr., of Andalusia passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at his residence. He was 87.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at Keahey Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Martin will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers, Herb Fain and Bill Martin. Pallbearers, Todd Bass, Scotty Bass, Ian Cooper, Tim Cooper, Bill Jennison, Jimmy Riley, Jerry Campbell, and Jose Garcia.
Left to cherish his memory, loving wife, Margaret Martin Smithwick; son, Charlie "Chuck" Harris Smithwick, III (Janelle) of North Carolina; daughters, Jackie Fuqua of Andalusia and Janet F. Cooper (Tim) of Andalusia; Portia Jennison (Bill) of Palatka, Florida; sister, Frances Mizelle of Windsor, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Harris Smithwick, Sr. and Ruth Cobb Smithwick, son, Danny H. Fuqua, sisters, Lois Hardin and Ellen Mizelle.
Mr. Smithwick spent his entire career as a lumber inspector; the couple attended Liberty Home Baptist Church.
