Carolyn Fay (Holder) Gorum

Carolyn Fay Gorum of Red Level passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 in a Pensacola hospital. She was 81.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Mott Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Keahey Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday. Rev. Terry Gafford will officiate the graveside. Keahey Funeral Home is directing.

Left to cherish her memories, daughter, Annette Gomillion and her husband, Kevin of McKenzie; honorary son, Randy Huckaba; sisters, Bettie Frazier and Linda Hartley; brothers, Joe Holder, Ronald Holder, Donald Holder; grandchildren, Alexandria “Aly” Huckaba, Austin Huckaba (Jenny), Caleb Gomillion (Emily), Cameron Gomillion and Kinsey Gomillion; great grandchildren, Brayden Huckaba, Brooks Huckaba, HeidiAnne Huckaba and AddaLynne Huckaba.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Billy Gorum; siblings, Franklin Holder, Margaret Griggers, Billie Jean (Buddy) Holder, Charles Wayne Holder and Ray Holder.

Mr. and Mrs. Gorum owned the Red Level Feed Store for many years, Carolyn worked alongside her husband every day doing all the many tasks required to run a small business. After retiring, the couple didn’t stay retired for long before they started Gorum Lawn Care Business and again in that business, Carolyn was instrumental it’s success. She was a talented vegetable and flower gardener and was a “master collard grower”. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, loved to cook for her family and spend time with her grandchildren.  Before the couple’s health declined, they were dedicated members of Mott Church of Christ. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
