Calvin (C.L.) Smith passed away on May 16, 2026.
Calvin was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. He graduated from McKenzie High School and had a lifelong love for music. He enjoyed playing the piano and writing songs, sharing his gift of music with family, friends, and all who knew him. His talent and passion for music will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched.
Calvin was married to the love of his life, Amelia Joyce Smith, for 62 years, and together they built a family rooted in love and faith.
He is survived by his sons, Ceil Smith, Joey Smith, and Jeff Smith, all of Andalusia; his daughter, Trish Cross (Carl) of DeFuniak Springs; his brothers, Wayne Smith (Joyce) of McKenzie, and James Earl Smith (Twinette) of Andalusia; his sisters, Carolyn Langdon (David) of Pace, and Dorothy Ann Cook of McKenzie; his grandchildren, Colton Cross, Amelia Taft, Bronwyn Kilcrease, Shae Page, and Shelley Dyal; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Joyce Smith; his brother, Larry Smith; his parents, Leroy and Dorothy Smith; and his grandmother, Ma Annie Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the FOP Lodge on Point A Lake.
Calvin will be remembered for his faith, his love of music, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
