CMSGT Benjamin Casey Obituary

Benjamin "Ben" Collins Casey retired Chief Master Sergeant, a native of Clio, Alabama, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, in Panama City, Florida at Sacred Heart Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, at New Hope Church (685 Co. Rd. 23, Clio, AL). The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home (1411 Blue Springs St., Clio, AL) and at the church one hour prior to the services. Rev. Robert Parnell will officiate, and special music will be provided by Jean Price. Interment will follow in the New Hope Church Cemetery with full Air Force honors. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Lana's Flowers is serving the family with floral expressions. (850 819 3344).

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sheri Smith (Kyle) of Deltona, Florida; Terri Casey of Panama City, Florida; step sons, Michael Hurst, of Pensacola, Florida, Craig Williamson (and family) of Eatonton, Georgia; step daughter, Karen Lynn Woodworth of Long Beach, Mississippi; one brother, Kib Casey of Clio; two sisters Ann McCall of Clayton; and Jane Brown of Clio; grandchildren, Christopher Khalaf (Ashley) of Okinawa, Japan and Michael Khalaf (Nikki) of Deltona, Florida, Andralyn Gunnoe of Long Beach, Mississippi, and Jaque (Samantha) of Mobile, Alabama, along with several great grandchildren.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Dewey (Peach) Casey and Lara Walker Casey; and the mother of his children, Annette Driskell Casey and his second wife who was his high school sweetheart, Faye Shaw Casey.

He retired after 27 years (and 8 days) in the United States Air Force. He was a 1959 graduate of Barbour County High School and played football, baseball and basketball all 4 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Clio, and a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan, that loved working in his yard and planting gardens. Ben had a great sense of humor and was kind to everyone he met. He is loved so much and will be dearly missed.
