Betty Griggs Obituary

Betty Griggs of Andalusia passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at her residence. She was 88.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Fairmount Baptist Church. Kymberly Keahey will share the eulogy.

During her working years, she was a CNA at Andalusia hospital for over 20 years and worked until she was 78 years old. She was a talented seamstress and made clothes for her children while they were young. She was also a skilled quilter and enjoyed reading mystery novels. Prior to her declining health had been a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Dean and Etta Sasser Dean, her beloved husband, James Robert Griggs, a daughter, Melissia Gayle Cook, brothers and sisters, Grover Dean, Buford Dean, Joseph Dean, Dorothy Dean Ellison, and Annette Dean George.

Left to cherish her memory, son, Otis Griggs (Martha) of Georgia; Linda Oliver (Robert) of California; Deborah Holley (Bruce) of Andalusia; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
