Mr. Aubrey Lamar Cox, age 84, of Clio passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Ozark Health & Rehab. He was surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Cox was a general contractor who worked in the construction industry all of his working life. He was also well known as a talented guitar player in gospel and country music.
Left to grieve his passing is his wife of 56 years, Betty Ann Price Cox of Clio; his daughter and son-in-law, Audra and Greg Reeves of Ozark; his granddaughter, Claire Wood of Ozark; his brother, Jacky Cox of Clio; and his sister, Sarah Nell Urquhart of Lithonia, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tullis and Bertha Shirah Cox and his brothers, Charles Cox and Bobby Ray Cox; and recently a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Cox.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Sykes Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Adams and Rev. Russell Hagler officiating. Special music will be provided by Leamon Littlefield and Mr. Cox's granddaughter, Claire Wood. Entombment will follow in the Sykes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Cox, Chad Littlefield, Ray Cox, Glenn Urquhart, Austin Cox, Chase Wilkerson, Russell Price and Drew Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be James Price, Barney Shirah, Levon Kelley and Wes Cox.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 4, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home of Clio, and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday (10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday).
