Annie Mae (Barbarow) Ainsworth

Annie Mae Ainsworth, age 75 of Greenville, formerly of Covington County, passed away December 15, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the First Pentecostal Church of Andalusia. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday at Keahey Funeral Home.

Brother Chester Watson will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Left to cherish her memory, sons, Alvie C. Ainsworth and Josh Ainsworth, daughters, Melinda Ainsworth, Bernice Haskew, Wanda J. Worrells (Wayne); brothers, Jessie Barbarow, Richard Barbarow (Carolyn). 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvie T. Ainsworth; parents, Albert J. Barbarow and Daisy Capers Barbarow; sisters, Estelle Blair, Betty Couey, Phillis Sorrells. 

Mrs. Annie Mae, known to everyone as "Mickey", didn't shy away from work, in her younger years, she worked alongside her husband in the pulp wood business and could work harder than most men. Even as she aged, she never quit working. When most people would have retired, she became a sought after "cleaning lady" around Andalusia. When she took on a home to clean, usually those folks became like her family. A gifted "green thumb" she could grow any kind of flower and was a talented southern cook, excelling at homemade biscuits, corn bread, chicken and dumplings and any other dish anyone wanted.  She was a lady of love, she loved her children, brothers, sisters and grandchildren with all her heart. "Mickey" was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed and could be "bossing Jesus" around in Heaven, because she loved to "boss folks around!"
