Amelia Smith Obituary

Amelia “Joyce” Smith passed away on January 12, 2025, in her home surrounded by the love of family members. She will be missed dearly by her surviving family members and friends; Her forever loving husband C.L. Smith, her sons, Ceil Smith, Joey Smith and Jeff Smith, her daughter and son-in-law Trish Cross and Carl Cross, Her 5 Grandchildren Shae Paige, Shelly Dyal and their Mom ReNay Smith, Bronwyn Kilcrease and her mom Renee Faust, Colton Cross and Mia Taft, her 9 Great Grandchildren, her beloved brother and sister Katrina Frye and Lynn Thompson(Ramona) and so many other family members and friends.  She will be welcomed in heaven by her mother and Father, Buck and Evelyn Thompson, her mother and father in-law Calvin Leroy and Dorothy Smith, and brother-in- law Larry Smith.  Joyce was very successful in her banking career as Branch Manager for SouthTrust Bank in Andalusia for many years where she touched many lives within the community. However, most importantly, Amelia was a beautiful soul who was strong in her faith in God, and she loved to be in nature, garden, fish, cook and being with her family. She was a true caretaker of others and had a heart of service.  In honor of her love for the sunshine and enjoying the beauty of flowers, her memorial and celebration of life will be planned at a future date in the springtime. To continue her passion to care for others in lieu of flowers, please donate to her favorite charity, Samaritan’s Purse by copy and pasting the web address below into your internet search bar.
