Amanda Lucille Varner, of Straughn, Alabama, passed away October 10, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was 49.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Straughn. Rev. Barbara Brewi and Rev. Derwood Cleiland will officiate.The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 25 years, Shann N. Varner; children Kole Thomas Varner and Kaitlynn M. Varner; father, Thomas R. Baker of Andalusia; brother Thomas D. Baker (Traci) of Andalusia; sister Katie Hammon (Matt) of New York; sister in-law Makailah Marie Raley of Gantt; brother in-law Robbie C. Raley of Gantt; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sandra M. Baker and mother in-law Marie L. Raley.
Amanda graduated from Troy University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She was a faithful servant of Christ in her household. She loved spending time with her children and cooking. She and her family have been members of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church since 1995. She will be greatly missed by her family and her brothers and sisters in Christ.
