Robert Winfred Vickery

Mr. Robert Winfred Vickrey of Red Level passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 13, 2019. He was 83.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2019, in the Keahey Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Monday. Rev. Tyler Ingram will officiate.  Interment will be held New Home Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Vickrey, Josh Vickrey, Austin Vickrey, Brad Vickrey, Jamie Mitchell Vickrey, and Tyler Patterson.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Rachel Merritt Vickey of Red Level; children, Sherry (Michael) Patterson of Red Level La-Jaunna Terry of Red Level; Mike (Eden) Vickery of Augusta, Georgia; Corey (Kristi) Vickery of Opp; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, J.C. (Mary Frances)  Vickrey of Garland, Al; Bo (Janice) Vickrey of Garland, Al; sister, Mary Heron of Illinois, sister-in-law, Mary Vickrey of Bay Minette, Ala.

He was preceded in death in death by his parents, James Cecil Vickrey and Lucille Luckie Vickrey, and a brother, William Vickrey.

 He worked as a construction superintendent at a Steel Mill until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and was a huge Chicago Bears and Black Hawks Hockey fan!
