Robert "Bicycle Bob" Sasser

Mr. Robert Sasser, age 66, of Florala, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018, at a Dothan hospital.  He was affectionately known as  "Bicycle Bob" around the Florala/Lockhart communities.   For awhile, Robert lived in Orlando,Florida where he worked at an orange grove picking oranges.  He then moved to Samson, Alabama, where his father lived.  His pastor said that he was an excellent tamborine player and a faithful member of the Faith Deliverance Apostolic Church and  he loved to sing and testify about the Lord.  His church family had much love for him.  He was often referred to as Bishop Belcher's "other son."  Mildred Kendrick and Betty Stewart helped provide small jobs, food and clothing for him for over 20 years, and he was very fond of Robert and Kim Willamson.   Bob will be missed. 

He is survived by his brother, William Sasser of Geneva and his aunt, Birdie Sasser of Geneva.  He was preceded in death by his parents. George and Christine (Huggins) Sasser; his brother, Bobby Sasser.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Faith Deliverance Apostolic Church in Lockhart with Bishop Nathaniel Belcher officiating. 

Memorialization is by cremation. Keahey Funeral Home of Lockhart is in charge of arrangements.
