Mrs. Lucy Gray Sharpe Kilgore, age 100, of Red Level, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018, at her residence.
Mrs. Kilgore was a long-time member of the River Falls Baptist Church, sang in the church choir and faithfully attended Sunday school. When she moved to the 90s and older class, she attended a few times and said she was going back to the“70- year old’s class” because she didn’t like being around all those “old folks.” She was affectionately known as the “Boss Lady” at River Falls Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three children: Ronnie Kilgore of Red Level, Phillip Kilgore of Georgetown, GA and Reese (Judy) Kilgore of Tavares, FL; two grandchildren, Greg (Kim) Kilgore of Georgia and Kim Kilgore of Destin, FL; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Kilgore; and her brother, Jess (Jean) Sharp of Ozark. She was preceded in death by her husband Lehman Heflin Kilgore.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at River Falls Baptist Church with Bro. Carl Douglas and Rev. Jim Walker officiating. Burial will follow at River Falls Cemetery. Keahey Funeral Home of Andalusia is directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the River Falls Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services (1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.) at River Falls Baptist Church. The family and close relatives will be served lunch at the church annex at 11:30 by the ladies of the church.
