Mrs. Joyce Glidewell Cook, age 88, of Andalusia, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017, at Andalusia Health & Rehab. 

Mrs. Cook was born in Covington County, AL to David A. and Agnes (Mitchell) Glidewell  in 1929.  She had worked in banking and retired from Region’s Bank after 27 years where she served as an Assistant Trust Officer.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Andalusia, the BPW Club, former president and vice-president of the Andalusia Civitan Club, a volunteer with The Red Cross,  a former member of Fairmount Baptist Church in Red Level and a Sunday School  teacher for several years.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 69 years, Joseph W. Cook, Jr., of Andalusia; her two children, Joseph Douglas (Debra) Cook of Andalusia and Pamelia (David) Payne of Elberta; her grandchildren, Robert Wilson Cook of Andalusia, William David (Elise) Payne II  of Boaz, AL, and Jennifer Ann (Scott) Snell of Kimberly, Idaho; her step-granddaughter, Alana Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Mason Payne, Raelyn Payne, Ian Snell and Mackenzie Snell.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Fairmount Baptist Church (Red Level) with Rev. Herb Carlisle officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairmount Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fairmount Cemetery Fund, c/o Fairmount Baptist Church, 28374 Church Road, Red Level, AL 36474.
