Mr. Harold Lamar Batchelor of Andalusia passed away unexpectedly at his residence, Saturday, November 30, 2019. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Mike Flowers and Rev. Monroe Sasser will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Keahey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the U.S.A.F.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Hutto, Alan Smith, Joey Thornton, Carlton Killingsworth, Quate Justice, Donald Dozier. Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Thomasson, Chantz Robertson, James Adams, Mike Cain, Charles Henley, Buddy Shivers, Chris Ham.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Sanford Volunteer Fire Department.
Left to cherish his memory, Carolyn S. Batchelor, his loving wife of 44 years; sons, Mike Batchelor and Nick Batchelor, both of Andalusia; and his beloved Pomeranian Yorkie, “Dink”.
Brother-in-law, Carroll (Barbara) Sanders of Wilmer, AL.
Born August 21, 1944 to Alter Batchelor and Videalia Ham Batchelor, Mr. Batchelor was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Claude and Gladys Sanders. He graduated from Straughn High School in 1964 and joined the U.S.A.F., and honorably served several years. He graduated from MacArthur Technical College with degrees in Brick Masonary, Small Engine Repairs and Barbering. he worked as a master brick and block mason in his early years. He helped start the Sanford Volunteer Fire Department and was a Barber in Andalusia and the Sanford Community for over 50 years. Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman, a longtime customer will lead the procession followed by the Sanford Volunteer Fire Department. They regularly attended Southside Baptist Church of Andalusia.
