Robert Leon Harrison (Bob), born June 7, 1935, in Laurel Hill, Florida, the second of three sons of Leroy and Bessie Harrison, went to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 6, 2017. Bob loved life and people. His warmth, wisdom, sense of humor, and superb storytelling will be missed by his family and friends who cherished him. Bob loved his family and took pride in providing for them and helping others through involvement in his civic and church communities through the years. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School, serving as a deacon and on church committees in various Baptist churches as he was transferred by his company, Liberty National Life. He was District Manager in Decatur until he retired, and served as president of Alabama Life Underwriters for 1988-89. He served as president of Rotary of Decatur that same year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Bessie Harrison of Clear Springs, Florida, and his brothers, Wayland Harrison, and Danny Harrison and a son, Victor Alexander Harrison. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Holley Harrison, his son, Robert Harrison (Maria), daughters, Joyce Wingard (Keith), and Beth Harrison; five grandchildren, Gay Robertson (Stephen), Topaz Hodkinson (Chadd), Holley Wingard, Zachary Wingard (Leah), and Summer Harrison; and six great-grandchildren, Carlee and Jordyn Robertson, Gabby, Farrah, Michael and Luke Hodkinson.
 

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of First Baptist Church, Decatur, Alabama, with visitation one hour before. Graveside services will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Florala, Alabama, on Tuesday, October 10, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Missions or a charity of your choice.
