Mrs. Bernice Danner Key, age 91 of Clio passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 in a Dothan nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Elam Baptist Church. Rev. Joe Underwood and Rev. Kenneth Earles will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing.

Survivors include sons, James (Paulette) Key of Troy; Jerry (Dorothy) Key of Montgomery; Terry (Jan) Key of Dothan; daughters, Cheryl K. Roberson of Clio; Cathy Key Cleiland of Clio; brother, Coy (Evelyn) Danner of Elamville; sister, Lena Kate (John) Harden of Enon, Al; 10  Grandchildren, Jim Key (Jennifer), Brian Key (Donna), David Key (Stefanie), Jason Trippe (Jennifer), Kerri Trippe Butler (Brian), Taylor Trippe, Josh Roberson (Angie), Justin Barron (Jennifer), Annie Key Hayes (Preston)

Serving as pallbearers will be Riley Danner, Arlie Barr, Bart Harden, Jerrod Foss, Fulton Robinette, A.J. Robinette. Arlie Barr, Fulton Robinette, A.J. Robinette. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Elam Baptist Church.

Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her husband, Rochel Key and a granddaughter, Laurie Nicole Barron, passing 6 days apart in 2008. She was a lifelong resident of Clio and a graduate of Elamville School. She was a skilled seamstress and made heirloom little girl dresses for many years. She was a wonderful mother to her children and loved by all who knew her.
